We are off again. Roads that curve & twist. Often narrow & usually no guard rails. There are alot of bridges over wide almost like a lake river & small narrow rivers.
In the next pix you can see a puff that looks like a cloud. And it is…A cloud of Dust. That’s where were headed. And then were there, the one with the Semi (HDT) coming out of it.
On this day we only saw one bear.
Below the Mountains is the Continental Divide, which divides 2 of the largest drainage systems in North America –the Yukon River and Mackenzie River watersheds. Water draining west continues 2,300 miles to the Bering Sea & east 2,650 miles to the Beaufort Sea (Artic Ocean) The other pix is just more Hwy with no guard rails and following the river.
There were several roads that had wash outs most on the route we’ll be taking back that stranded people for about 5 days. At this one they made a temp fix & are putting in a new bridge. As the Hwy continues it winds 7 times in & out of the B.C., Yukon Territory border.
The Nisutlin Bay Bridge is the longest water span on the Alaska Hwy @ 1,917 feet. It’s a metal grated bridge decking. The Village of Teslin is on the other side. We stopped @ a beautiful viewpoint and had lunch before continuing down to the town.

Do you believe that truck passed us on the bridge.
We had to stop @ Johnsons Crossing for there World Famous Cinnamon buns. I can’t tell you if the recipe has changed but Steve said his mom would have thrown them out & started over? :-/ But of course you see they did get eaten. I think were used to lit & Fluffy buns & these weren't.
Next post will be @ Whitehorse.
"World Famous Cinnamon buns." Hahaha! We saw the same ones two years ago. Yours were just two years older.
