In the last few days we didn’t do a lot. The guys tried there luck @ fishing and I think they enjoyed the experience. Below is where we were @ Salmon Camp. It was much like Quartzsite in AZ. except for the surrounding flora, fauna & wild life I am posting several sunsets taken different nites but over the same cluster of trees. All taken between 10:30 & 11:30 @ nite.
Below is where we all parked. And the 2nd pix is of the runway that a bush plain could land on. None did while we were there but It could happen so not allowed to park there.
Of course what is a blog without our fur friends Lucie the very dog friendly cat has to take a role in the sand. Her Favorite thing to do. & then there’s very Sweet Mollie. She wasn’t so sure how friendly Lucie was.
@ the fishing site the guys went to there were these steps down that lead to more steps to the river. It’s a very nice set up. We were told these steps & access ramps were recently put in by the city of Soldotna & the Fisheries.. Some of it was just finished this year. It is designed to keep erosion down. The silhouette is Mike & Steve.
Another of the Sunsets & happy HR. The sign is one that the Lumber yard would change on there reader board. I missed a couple good ones.
And all the hype of good Cinnamon Roles I think “the Moose is Loose Bakery” is the BEST in out travels. @ all there breads & Pastries are EXCELENT… Oh & the Moose isn’t taken @ the Bakery She was around us @ Salmon Camp.
We stopped @ the Visitor center to take some pix of the carvings in front. And of the fishing area there on the Kenai.
And some of the signs. They put up cleaning stations along the River so it keeps the mess in the river for the food chain & won’t attract the bears etc. into the camp areas.
Another stop @ a museum in Soldotna. It is to show some of what the homesteaders had to do. The bldg. on stilts was where they kept there supplies away from the bears. They were built up high & away from the cabins.
The group @ Salmon Camp was small but sure had our share of Fun… And a last sunset What a great 20 days.
We are now off to see more of Alaska before we need to head south. I still have 2 blogs to catch up Hopefully will do tonight.
Good post snd great pics!
